Letter from a Librarian

Hi, Everybody!

I sit at home writing this letter, missing all of you. While we are “social distancing,” it’s important to keep a routine, exercise, read, eat, and get outside.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has given us the perfect opportunity to talk with our kids about why washing hands with soap and water is so important. I thought this video did an excellent job of doing just that, if you are a visual person like me.

While we aren’t open for in-person programming right now, we are still doing everything we can to share stories, crafts, good books, and digital resources with you. Check for great content on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. You might just find Miss Katy sharing a story with you!

I love how everyone is just trying to help each other get through this tough time. Even Olaf (Josh Gad, I mean) is posting a video each night on Twitter, reading a children’s story. Here he is with The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.

If you aren’t already familiar with the digital resources we have available on our website, this is the perfect opportunity to try them out! Tumble Book Cloud Junior is one of my favorites.

Also, while you are home, don’t forget to fill out the online 2020 Census for your household. Look for a letter from the U.S. Census Bureau . Learn more about the importance of this decennial count here.

I look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Love,

Miss Melissa
