Heartless is one of our all-time favorite novels. It provides a heartbreakingly beautiful villain origin story for the Queen of Hearts. The author intricately weaves astonishing twists into this tragic backstory. It’s a story full of love, family, heartbreak, and pain. It’s a story of a simple girl who loves baking – a girl who eventually transforms into the infamous Queen. Personally, we appreciated the author’s creative decision to write from the third person POV. This allows the story to be read like a fairytale, which makes the book seem more authentic. The author also did an amazing job of incorporating details that foreshadowed the book’s impending conclusion. Overall, this book is perfect if you’re looking for a quick and easy read.
