As I’m writing this, it is early March and I just celebrated my four year work anniversary at the Glen Ellyn Public Library! I have accepted a new position at Geneva Public Library District as a Learning and Discovery Librarian doing family programming and fun events, dispensing advice, and trying to find the right books for visitors.
My time in Glen Ellyn has been extremely rewarding and fulfilling, not just professionally but personally, too. A highlight was winning the Glen Ellyn Community Award for Library Employee of the Year for 2019 – Wow!
So then why leave? I am ready for a new challenge and looking forward to working with a great staff in a different community.
I’m sure that you will like the new Middle School Librarian, so please make them feel welcome. They are certainly lucky to work with you in Glen Ellyn!
If you’re ever in Geneva, do stop by the library and ask for me.
Until next time,
Tom Malinowski
