We’re all passionate about something. If you know me, you know that my passions are the Chicago Cubs and Disney. Specifically, Walt Disney World in Florida.
I love Disney World so much that I have lost track of how many times I have visited, but it’s likely somewhere around 20. Last year, I was lucky enough to get an annual pass and by the time it expires, I will have used it five times. It’s fun to go for all the different festivals and I can’t wait to be back around the holidays when it feels extra magical.
Overall, my happy place is the Magic Kingdom. Every time I walk up Main Street, I feel at home. I love everything about it – the smells, the music, the colors, the nostalgia. The rides are great, too. The older I get, the less I need the thrills, although I do love Slinky Dog Dash and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I’m happy to hop on the boat rides, especially Frozen Ever After in EPCOT.
My love for Disney also means I love Disney movies. I don’t really watch them over and over, but I do make sure to see all of them. I can’t wait for Frozen II on November 22. If you’re eagerly anticipating the new movie, celebrate with Anna and Elsa when they come to the library this Saturday, November 16 from 10:30-11:30 am on the 2nd floor! They will read you a story, sing songs, and provide lots of fun photo ops. You’ll even have a chance to get your face painted! We also have various Anna and Elsa materials to check out at the library or through Interlibrary Loan, among our vast collection of Disney books, movies, music, and more. Whatever your family loves to do, I hope you will join us for a little bit of Disney magic.
